The photos below show some experimental shots i took to explore working in low artificial lighting. My main aim for the shoot was to capture an almost surreal yet poisonous relationship between the model and the technology (in this case computer). While shooting the photos I wanted to create a sort of drug addict, obsessiveness behavioral theme throughout each image showing the misery and pain which is commonly associated with drug addicts towards their addictions . I wanted the photographs to look as though they were telling a story or offer us a glimpse into a series of shot time events of the person involved. For the shoot I only used the lights from my laptop which i later enhanced and edited contrast and brightness in Photoshop.
After reviewing these photographs I really liked the effect and role in which the light had in the photos almost symbolizing a sort of power upon the human involved as by highlighting certain aspects of the frame it portrays a controlling nature creating a mysterious and confusing set of images.
Overall i felt happy with these shots and would love to experiment more in the same style, id like to try using different areas and models along with surroundings and environments. Id also like to do a wider range of shots exploring the theme more, for example simulating injections, smoking or some type of addiction traits .
